088 - Sandra Parks - Retired Teacher Librarian, Storyteller - October 22, 2024

The gang, sans Jay, welcomes Sandra "Sandy" Parks to the show! Sandy is a retired librarian who still carries the torch against censorship and is an untiring advocate for access to interesting and relevant books across public libraries.

We jump right in on a discussion of how our area is working through the challenging issue of banning books in public schools, how a culture decides to make those types of decisions, and where it all might lead.

This episode goes a little longer than our normal episode, but the conversation took us to some interesting places. Thanks again to Sandy for helping us reflect and truly examine why access to books and the the thoughts they share are so important!
